The epicenter of the earthquake was located at coordinates 0.84 South Latitude – 119.94 East Longitude or precisely located on land, 10 kilometers east of Palu City with a depth of 6 km.
By observing the location of the epicenter and the depth of the hypocenter, it appears that this earthquake is classified as shallow due to local fault activity.
